Ranveer Singh Starrer Scores Solid 7th Week, Crosses 890 Crore Net Official Number And 790 Crore Organic Number! All Time BLOCKBUSTER
Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar continued to add in 8th week, with early trends indicating lifetime collections over 895 crore net. The film started at similar levels on 7th Friday as 6th Week trend and broke all time records in 3rd, 4th, 5th week and 6th week. Film also crossed massive 1325 crore worldwide gross.
If the current momentum continues in 8th week, the film can grow to Rs 900 crore net lifetime.
Organic Collections Drive The Growth
The word collect needs to be emphasized here because the box office of the film had inflated numbers in the first couple of days with a large amount of corporate bookings involved. But now the collections are pretty much all organic. The film built enormous momentum over its first week, beginning with an extraordinary opening weekend abd 2nd week, now its carrying that strength into 4th, 5th, 6th week and 7th week too.
While the numbers stayed flat from Tuesday to Thursday, that was due to the tapering off of the corporate booking element. The organic collections were actually growing each day. By 2nd Friday, the film was competing with all time daily records, and now it has gone to another level entirely, obliterating existing records. This organic growth shows real audience interest rather than manufactured numbers.
Dhurandhar Is Now A Cultural Phenomenon Like Uri The Surgical Strike
Dhurandhar has now become a cultural phenomenon, getting into mainstream media and conversation with its references to real life events and political themes. This is reminiscent of director Aditya Dhar’s previous film Uri: The Surgical Strike, which saw a similar thing happening. That film opened to Rs 8 crore nett on its first day and went on to collect Rs 245 crore nett lifetime.
This time, the trend is not just better but on a much larger scale. The film started with a much bigger opening and is maintaining incredible momentum through word of mouth. Dhurandhar Scored Huge First Week
Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh is looking to put up Rs. 33.10 crore net on Saturday. That marks a 15 per cent growth from its first day of 28.60 crore net. Film jumped big by 33 percent on Sunday to collected 44.80 crore net. This brings the three day official total to Rs. 106.50 crore nett.
The Ranveer Singh starrer held solid on day four and collected 24.30 crore net. Film grew on day 5 without help of discounted ticket rates which is commendable. Film scored 28.60 crore net on Tuesday followed by equally impressive 29.20 crore net on Wednesday and 29.40 crore net on Thursday taking 7 – day total to 218 crore net as per official producers’ number.
Dhurandhar Registered ALL TIME Record Numbers On Every Day In 2nd Week
Film broke every record to post 34.70 crore net, the highest second Friday ever followed by 53.70 crore net on 2nd Saturday which was highest second Saturday ever and 58.20 crore net on 2nd Sunday which was highest second Sunday. Film collected 146.60 crore net over 2nd weekend which was 35% higher than 1st weekend of 106.50 crore net.
Film held on record levels on 2nd Monday and collected 31.80 crore net beating 20 crore net of Pushpa 2 by big margin. Again 2nd Tuesday was new record with 32.10 crore net without discounted prices. Film added huge 25.70 crore net on 2nd Wednesday followed by 25.30 crore net on 3rd Thursday.
Film collected huge 261.50 crore net in 2nd week which was 20% jump over 1st week and that is incredible. The film has now emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film in Week 2, overtaking biggies including Pushpa 2 Hindi by a wide margin.
Dhurandhar Breaks All Records In Third Week
Dhurandhar remained unaffected with release of Avatar and collected 23.70 crore net on 3rd Friday thus becoming fastest entrant in 500 crore club as well as another record of highest 3rd Friday ever beating Chhaava (13.30 cr) and Pushpa 2 (12.50 crore). Film jumped on 3rd Saturday and collected all time highest 3rd Saturday number 35.70 crore net beating 3rd Saturday records of Chhaava (22.50 crore) and Pushpa 2 (20.50 crore). Film collected all time biggest 3rd Sunday 40.30 crore net. Film scored highest 3rd weekend of 99.70 crore net beating Chhaava (60.10 crore) and Pushpa 2 (60 crore).
Dhurandhar added 19.70 crore net on 3rd Monday, 20.40 crore net on 3rd Tuesday, 20.90 crore net on 3rd Wednesday and 28.80 crore net on 3rd Thursday with big Christmas jump.
Film collected 189.30 crore net in 3rd week which is all time record beating Pushpa 2 (107.75 crore net) and Chhaava (85.84 crore net) by huge margin.
Dhurandhar Breaks All Time Record Over 4th Week
Dhurandhar collected solid 16.70 crore net on 4th Friday followed by 20.90 crore net on 4th Saturday with 20% jump and 24.30 crore net on 4th Sunday with 25% jump. Film collected 61.90 crore net over 4th weekend which is more than double of 30 crore net of Pushpa 2, 28.43 crore net of Chhaava and 25.01 crore net of Stree 2. Film added 11.20 crore net on 4th Monday, 12.60 crore net on 4th Tuesday, 12.40 crore net on 4th Wednesday and 17.60 crore net on 4th Thursday with growth on New year.
Film collected 115.70 crore net in 4th week which is by far highest numbers for any film in India beating earlier bests of Pushpa 2 (57.95 crore), Chhaava(43.98 crore) and Stree 2 (37.75 crore).
Dhurandhar Crosses RECORD 56 Crore Net In 5th Week
Dhurandhar collected 9.70 crore net on 5th Friday and still remained number one film despite numerous new releases. Film jumped on 5th Saturday and collected 12.60 crore net followed by 13.50 crore net on 5th Sunday. Film cross 35.80 crore net over 5th weekend which is highest ever beating Chhaava (22 crore), Stree 2 (16 crore) and Pushpa 2 (14 crore).
Film added 5.40 crore net on 5th Monday, 5.70 crore net on 5th Tuesday, 4.75 crore net on 5th Wednesday and 4.70 crore net on 5th Thursday. Film scored biggest 5th week ever of 56.35 crore net.

It collected 2.10 crore net on 7th Friday, 3.60 crore net on 7th Saturday and 4.25 crore net on 7th Sunday thus crossing 9.95 crore net over 7th weekend. Film added 1.70 crore net on 7th Monday, 1.95 crore net on 7th Tuesday, 1.30 crore net on 7th Wednesday and 1.35 crore net on 7th Thursday. Film collected 17.25 crore net in 7th week.

How much of the box office numbers are genuine, and how much is pushed? On the first day, there were largely genuine pre-sales to go with, but today, there is nothing really to base it upon. Therefore, nothing meaningful can be said or analysed about the film and its box office over first few days. Still seems 17 crore on day one, 22 crore on day two and 31 crore on day three are the fair values and film crossed 70 crore net over the weekend which was still a good total and this feeding spoils the merit for a content driven film.
Film held on Monday at Friday level and added 19 crore net. Film grew on Tuesday and collected 22 crore net followed by similar 24 crore net on Wednesday and 29 crore on Thursday. It has 7 day total of 164 crore net.

This is really difficult situation for media to report numbers as producers claiming one number and reality is far from it. The logic for producers to do so is to build the perception of a film doing well and this case it worked.
The practice of inflating numbers through block bookings has become a concerning trend. Trade sources point out that while this may build perception in headlines, it compromises the credibility of box office reporting.
