As reported by Bleeding Cool, Marvel offered ComicsPRO convention attendees a sneak peek at the future of the Hulk. A higher-up at Marvel Comics, David Gabriel, outlined the creative plans for Hulk through 2026, leading up to a major event in early 2027.

Marvel Is Building To A Huge Hulk Event In Early 2027

Get ready for Hulk War. Speaking at ComicsPRO, Marvel’s David Gabriel confirmed the recent news that author Phillip Kennedy Johnson’s Infernal Hulk series is ending after ten issues. However, he also confirmed that’s not the end of the story Johnson is telling, which is going to culminate in a huge Marvel event to start 2027.

Infernal Hulk #10 will reportedly be followed up by a miniseries entitled Hulk War: Infernal Rage, which makes it clear the Infernal saga will continue. More on that in a minute. Hulk War sounds like an abbreviated version of “War of the Hulks,” suggesting Marvel is maneuvering the pieces into place to pit its most massively overpowered characters against one another.

World War Hulk remains an all-time-great Marvel crossover, and Hulk War arrives just in time for the 20th anniversary of its predecessor.

The Infernal Hulk features an incredible, demonic twist on the character’s classic look. The new villain also immediately jumps to the top of the list when it comes to Marvel’s most powerful villains. Which means it would be a shame if Infernal Hulk didn’t get the opportunity to flex on the Avengers, the X-Men, and other Marvel heavyweights.

There’s a good chance that could be what Hulk War: Infernal Rage gives fans. In any case, Marvel readers now know that the next year and beyond of Hulk stories are planned out, and that author Phillip Kennedy Johnson is going to bring his singular vision of the Marvel character to a dramatic apex.
